GENERAL INFORMATION
- This position is with the Oregon Department of Energy, Conservation Division, and is located in Salem. The Oregon Department of Energy has approximately 90 employees and is responsible for promoting the efficient use of energy resources, developing an energy supply that is renewable, affordable and reliable, and regulating the transport and cleanup of radioactive waste.
- This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified people. The list will be used to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill other vacancies as they occur.
- This is a part-time (30 hours per week) seasonal position through June 30, 2009. This position receives prorated fringe benefits. The State of Oregon provides an attractive, cafeteria-style benefit plan that includes employer contributions toward a variety of medical and dental plans covering employees and dependants, participation in the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP), and a deferred compensation plan.

TO QUALIFY
Your PD100 application form will be reviewed to verify that you meet the qualifications stated in this section. To receive credit, your application form must clearly show that you have:
- Three months of full-time experience in data entry or word processing. Experience should include operating electronic data entry or word processing equipment to input information from source documents; AND
- A typing speed of at least 45 words per minute. Write your typing/keyboarding speed in the SKILLS section of your application.
- Completion of an established data entry training course using electronic data entry equipment may be substituted for up to three months of experience.
- A copy of your certificate or transcripts must be attached to receive credit for courses taken.
- Your application materials should clearly describe how you meet these qualifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position provides data entry of Tax Credit applications and limited clerical assistance to the Residential Energy Tax Credit Program staff. Major duties include:
- Enter data from approved appliance tax credit applications into database and issue completed certification cards. Proofread printed reports for accuracy and correct errors.
- Open, sort and date stamp program mail. Review incoming applications for completeness and contact customer to obtain missing information.
- Contact customer by phone/fax to verify information on application, issue a file number for each application and log into a spreadsheet.
- Maintain existing filing system by filing all completely processed applications. Proofread printed reports for accuracy and correct any errors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is conducted in a typical office environment and requires sitting for extended periods with majority of time spent operating a PC.
EXAM
