The Oregon Department of Energy and Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) announced July 1 the expansion of the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program to include additional appliances. Beginning in January of this year, the state offered a rebate to qualifying low-income homeowners for replacement of low-efficiency furnaces and heat pumps with ENERGY STAR appliances. The program has now been expanded to include rebates for qualified ENERGY STAR water heaters, refrigerators, dishwashers and clothes washers.
